A Comprehensive Guide
Discover the key aspects of mastering the manager dashboard and learn how to optimize your managerial skills.
Understanding the Manager Dashboard
The manager dashboard is a powerful tool that provides a comprehensive overview of the team's performance and key metrics. It allows managers to monitor the cleanup progress of their team members and identify areas for improvement. By understanding the manager dashboard, managers can gain valuable insights and make data-driven decisions.
Example of Manager structure
The manager organisation chart can look something like this:
At the top of the chart is the highest-ranking executive in the company. Below the CEO, there may be multiple layers of management and middle-managers, depending on the size and structure of the organization. These layers can include positions such as Vice Presidents, Directors, and Managers.
Each manager is responsible for overseeing a specific team or department within the organization. The manager dashboard plays a crucial role in facilitating effective management by providing managers with a visual representation of their team's structure and cleanup performance.
In the manager dashboard, each team member is represented by a box or a node, with lines connecting them to their respective managers. This hierarchical structure helps managers understand the reporting relationships within their team and allows for clear communication and delegation of tasks.
Prerequisites for using the Manager Dashboard
Correct setup of user settings in your Microsoft tenant is necessary for the manager to receive the accurate report.
Ensure that users are correctly assigning the appropriate manager.
In order for the manager organization chart to be visible on the manager dashboard, it is essential that the team's structure is properly organized.
Azure AD-group for Managers
In order to optimize the functionality of the manager dashboard, it important to create an Azure AD-group specifically for managers. This will further enhance the accuracy and effectiveness of the reporting system.
By creating an Azure AD-group for managers, you ensures that the manager organization members are visible on the manager dashboard.
Furthermore, this setup allows for seamless communication and maintenance of Managers. This not only improves efficiency but also promotes a collaborative and productive work environment.
To create an Azure AD-group for managers, follow these simple steps:
1. Log in to your Microsoft tenant account and navigate to the Azure Active Directory portal.
2. Click on "Groups" in the left-hand menu and then select "New Group."
3. Fill in the necessary details for the group, such as the name and description.
4. Under the "Membership type" section, choose "Assigned" to manually add members to the group.
5. Add the managers to the group by searching for their names or email addresses.
6. Click "Create" to finish creating the Azure AD-group for managers.
Once the group is created, DMCS is configured to display the manager organization chart. This can be done by sending the AD-group name to D&M Support email. D&M will apply the settings of the manager dashboard and enabling the option to show the hierarchical structure.
By following these steps and creating an Azure AD-group for managers, you can unlock the full potential of the manager dashboard and optimize your managerial skills. This will ultimately lead to improved team performance, better decision-making, and overall success in your role as a manager.
